Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior food quality, service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and appropriately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality during the shift, ensuring proper storage of prepared and cooked food
  • Manage catering events both in-house and externally, especially during peak periods such as Carnival, July/August vacation, etc.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage the restaurant’s solid reputation and suggest ways to improve it
  • Control food and beverage costs, operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Complete all reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  • Familiarity with restaurant Point-of-Sale and Inventory management software, like Micros, Lightspeed, MarketMan
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills

Relationships:

  • Works closely with the Managing Director, General Manager, franchise owners, restaurant management, shift supervisors, customer service and operations staff
  • Interacts regularly with external customers, brand ambassadors, and agencies

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor or similar role
  • Full understanding of industry safety standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic software, such as Word and Excel
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing up for long hours and lifting heavy loads occasionally
  • Working well within a team
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Leadership and conflict-management skills
  • High School Diploma; A degree in Hotel Management is a plus
