DMA Global is a Professional Recruitment firm support our client in their search for an Intermediate to Senior level Desk-side Support/ Server Administrator/ Technician.
The Server Administrator will be the key person in assisting thier clients with their Desk/ Server Management. The Server Administrator will work closely with the Service Desk to resolve issues that occurring.
Position Role and Responsibility.
Strong interpersonal skills are must for this position. The Server Administrator will work both remotely and on-site. The Server Administrator may log the issue into the Ticketing system, resolve the issue and validate with the users that the incident has been resolved. The Server Administrator needs to have a high degree of knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software and server backup software. It is desired that the Server Administrator should have been certified or working towards certification for Microsoft products, Server and Network Technology.
The Administrator will also maintain the Knowledge Database as to the configuration of the servers, procedures and the nature of the incident and the resolution. The Knowledge Database is then used by Service Desk Technicians to resolve issues prior to escalating to the Server Administrator.
Specific Duties and Skills Set
Administers use, capacity and performance of server systems across different organizations. Works with end users and vendors to resolve server issues.
Responsible for the configuration and upgrades of Windows Server hardware and Operating Systems, Active Directory and related functions and services.
Migrate On-Site Servers to Azure Environment.
Schedules, plans, and performs system health checks across environments.
Confers with users to resolve problems affecting server performance. Validates and adjusts server configuration as needed. Observes and controls the status and performance of all components of server/system facilities.
Maintains control of server devices. Control access to, and authorization level of devices. Maintains effective security/backup and disaster recovery processes and systems. Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations as needed.
Provide strategic and architectural planning and vision for Windows infrastructure.
Creates and maintains process and procedure documentation. Provides feedback on commonly encountered problems and misunderstandings to enhance user documentation and/or training programs etc. Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
- Experience with design, architecture, support and recovery of Windows systems environments and Active Directory.
- Strong working knowledge of networking architectures and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with ESXI and Hyper-V, VMware, and other virtualization methods.
- Experience with Veeam, VPN Setup, and Firewalls.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services(Storage, compute and networking).
- A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead the technical discussion on server management and issues.
